This project focused on improving the digital experience for amusement park visitors. The aim was to create a mobile solution that simplifies navigation, social interaction, and time management within the park. Especially for millennials
Visitors often struggle to stay connected with friends, manage wait times, and navigate large parks efficiently. The goal was to design an Android app that addresses these pain points while providing a fun and intuitive user experience.
Duration
5 weeks
Project
My interpretation
I conducted user interviews and observational studies to uncover visitor frustrations and desires. Based on these insights, I designed solutions such as real-time queue updates and a “find-friends” feature. Starting from a style scape and using the Android Material Design Kit, I also built a custom component library to maintain consistency and speed up development.
Challenge
Creating a fully functional Android app was a new challenge for me, requiring a deep dive into mobile components and Android design standards. Understanding the varied needs of both solo visitors and groups demanded thorough research and creative problem-solving. Besides that, working with these soft colors was hard to have a clear contrast for the user.
Outcome
The resulting app provides a smoother, more connected park experience. Visitors can easily track friends, manage wait times, and navigate the park efficiently. The project expanded my knowledge of Android design and component-based development while reinforcing the importance of research-driven, user-focused solutions.
